Recently we all saw the unveiling of the annual budget of 2008-2009...It was termed as the Santa Claus Budget. I don't know a lot about budget..............but I've heard a lot of praises for it this particular year.
So I'd really appreciate it if someone, anyone can tell me what this dream budget has done for the common man.
Further , with the very high levels of corruption in our country, can this money really reach the masses?
I'd really appreciate it, if someone really tells me what all this is about!

well..i dont knw dat much 2...but ya a few facts here and der..i dont knw how credible is dis budget..but ya for the "ppl" who are on the right side..its a dream budget...unfortunately im not...well ideally when i say "ppl" i mean the middle class...but am i not a part of the middle class..or have i got rich...wel..i need to figure dat out...
ya it has benifited the middle class..the so called 'middle class'...here are some of the clauses of the budget...
1)looking at the grave situation of farmers suicide specialy last year...fm has decided to help dem by givin a record loan of 60thousand crore to the farmers..now will dis amount actually decrease the numbers farmer sucide ...more imprtantly will it improve the conditions of those farmers is a question whose ans. will be learnt in time...
2) he reduced import duty..so go buy those foreign products at a cheaper rate...
3)ppl with an anual income of 1.5lakh or less..have been excempted from taxes...ppl with an anual income between 1.5lakh and 3lakh have to pay 15% of their salary as taxes (oouch) (it was less before)
and ppl with an anual income of more than 3lakh have to pay 30% of their salary as taxes (phew!!! bomb..boomb..bomb) so its basically looting the rich (i may sound like a capatialist) but are those ppl who come in the 2nd category actually rich?? i thought the standard of living had increased..and so has the cost..nevr knew only middle class standard of living has increased...so as i pay a lot of taxes..so can i call myself rich...believe me if dats d case..its a poor thing 2 be rich...
Hey ranjit......just a few mistakes in ur tax slab....
below 1.5lacks-no tax
1.5-3lacks 10% of ur income
3-5lacks 20% of ur income
above 5lacks-30% of ur income
+ itz in slabs ie the 1st 1.5 lacks of ur income are exempted, de next 1.5 are charged at 10%..de next 2 lacks are charged at 20% ..nd de rest @ 30%!
So d budget was meant to be helpful ,....but will the 60 thousand crore ever reach the farmer, who is intending to commit suicide????
such farmers live in the most obscure regions and by the tym the money reaches them ,most of it will have been eaten up by our govt. officials/politicians..........

yash my friend...d point isnt will dat amount reach dem or not..d point is...will it gurantee a solution to the problem...even if the money reaches dem..will deir condition actually improve? i belive ya money is required...but an amount as heft as dis is a lil too much...my move would have been investing money in building a system...an organization in every farmer suicide prone area..and the organizaton giving a human approach to it..in d sense..giving an emotional support...educating and making him aware of the necessary things...i dont think heiring psychologists will be a bad idea..i mean..do we loose nethin if we do dat? dats my approach..lets see if dis year shows ne diference

But i wonder if such an organization will last very long???

lets have a organization
INDIA FARMER'S ASSOCIATION or ne crappy name watever they want nd whoever they want to name after
the association gets all land from the farmer except the land where the farmer has his house..basically..the organization takes his farm..and then employs the farmer to work on that same part of land...there should be a clause where the next family member will work on that farm..the farmer is paid wages as per the size of the farm...the organization pays for the seeds and any raw material that is required...the wages should be paid through electronic system so that there cant be any foul play involved....nd at last the farmer should be given the choice if he wants to join this organization.....with such a system in place, it is the government which has to see red or see profit. .and there has to be a system in place to check the productivity of the farm...to see that the farmer doesn't just sit idle doing no work just coz the organization is looking after his wages...
if proper planning is done, such a system can be put in place...lets hope for the best!
